Recruitment auditions June 6th - amusement park Sydney

The group auditions have two stages (2 days) that successful applicants need to undertake prior to being offered a position at Luna Park Sydney.

Stage 1, on 6th June is a group audition. Then select applicants will pass through to a one on one interview on the same day. You should allow up to 4 hours to undertake all the activities on that day.

The selection process will have several exit points for unsuccessful candidates throughout the audition. Candidates who pass BOTH the stages on the first day of auditions are then required to attend an additional half day the following week on 14th June, after which time those applicants will be advised whether or not they have been successful. Training will commence shortly after you have been offered a position with us.

All applicants must:
 Be well presented, with a vibrant, fun-loving personality and a smile as big as our trademark face. You must be able to speak and understand both written and verbal instructions in English. These positions have direct guest contact and require the ability to fluently converse in English.
 Have permission to work in Australia. We will not interview any applicant who does not have a valid working visa to work in Australia. Visas candidates are welcome, but must bring proof of work entitlements (e.g. a copy of your passport).
 Be available to work a variety of shifts across 7 days during the School holidays (including nights and weekends). You must be available to accept at least 4 shifts per week including Friday and Saturday (day and night) and Sundays during 23rd June – 23rd July inclusive.
 Select candidates may be offered ongoing shifts at the completion of the School Holiday period.

**Please be advised that during the audition you will be asked to participate in fun group activities that requires speaking in front of large groups, dance/physical movement and working in teams to complete exercises. Please dress in suitable attire to ensure you can move freely, bend and crouch. We are not looking for great dancers or actors however candidates will be selected based on their participation, communication, enthusiasm and confidence in these activities.

When are the interviews taking place?
The audition/interview will be held on Tuesday 6th June. Registration is open between 4pm and 6pm. You should allow up to 4 hours to undertake all the activities on that day. If you can’t make it on this date, unfortunately there are no alternate dates at this stage.

Where are the interviews being held?
At Luna Park. Simply walk through the entry face and follow the signs to recruitment interviews.

Do I need to book an interview time?
Yes. Apply online and then complete your registration by selecting an interview time between 4pm-6pm. Visit, Luna Park on the 6th June 2017 at the time you have chosen.

What do I need to bring on the day?
 Copy of photo identification, either a passport, OR drivers licence. Please note: you must also supply an original birth certificate (& copy to give to us) if you are using a drivers licence as proof of your identification.
 If you are not an Australian resident; you must bring your passport (and a copy of your passport to give to us).
 A copy of your resume.
 A copy of your RSA Certificate/Card (if you have one).

Do I have to be available every night and every weekend?
Generally, yes if the park is open at those times. However, if you need a day (or night) off for some reason, this can be arranged in advance.

How much do I get paid if I am successful?
This will depend on the position you are hired for. All employees will be engaged under the Luna Park Services Pty Ltd Enterprise Agreement 2014. The seasonal starting rate for most positions for anyone over the age of 18 years is currently from $22.20 per hour plus superannuation.

Do I get free rides if I work for Luna Park?
Yes. You are able to enjoy the rides for free when you work at Luna Park. We also offer our staff 40% off food, beverages and merchandise in the Park and 20% off food and beverages at The Deck.

What positions are available?
These positions are available:
 Rides Operations Hosts
Round and round, some fast, some upside down – you name it, our rides do it! You will assist in the safe and efficient operation of our rides and attractions, and ensure all Guests have a safe, enjoyable and FUN experience. No previous experience is necessary. Applicants for these positions must be aged 18 years and over.
 Ticket Sellers
Often acting as the first Team guests come into contact with, you will set the bar high with out-of-this-world service! Welcome our Guests to the Park and assist by providing information on products and services on offer, selling tickets and managing queues.
 Merchandising/Sideshow Hosts
A trip to Luna Park isn’t complete without a souvenir. You’ll be selling everything from on-ride photos to balloons, toys and ice creams.
The Merchandise Hosts also operate Sideshow Alley so you’ll need to be a confident spruiker! Laugh and create memories for our Guests while they enjoy our classic sideshow games.
 Food and Beverage Hosts
Serving up everything from delicious fun park favourites including juicy hamburgers to fairy floss, coffees, salads, ice creams and behind the bar on special events. You will assist in the efficient operation of our take away and cafeteria outlets in the park in the positions of Retail Short Order Cooks, Food Attendants and Cashiers. Applicants for these positions will require an RSA Certificate.
 Venue Stewards
Get paid to work out! Be part of a team that moves and builds facilities and equipment for our functions and events. E.g. stages, tiering, room set-up and break-down. Applicants must be physically fit and able to move and lift heavy loads using proper techniques. This is an ongoing casual role, with hours offered dependent on the event schedule.

Job tasks and responsibilities

The role

A typical day would include sending quotes, collecting details, organising bookings, answering phone calls, giving quotes over the phone and assisting our customers with their requests.

When working at our depot in Botany, daily tasks will include managing pick-ups and drop-offs and assisting customers with on-road requests
