The 2 day tour departs Fraser Island on the 8.30pm ferry transfer, arriving in Hervey Bay at approx 9.30pm

You'll need to have a day-pack ready when you check in at the Mainland Reception (River Heads), as your 4WD adventure begins as soon you get to Fraser. Don't forget to pack your swimmers, towel, hat, sunscreen and sunglasses, comfortable walking shoes or sandals, insect repellent, essential medication and of course a camera to click all the action! Cold water is available on tour however it's a good idea to take your own bottle.
Your main backpack or other luggage will be delivered to the Wilderness Lodge storage area for you to collect in the afternoon. Each guest may check in free of charge up to two items of luggage with a maximum weight of 25 kilograms each. Additional luggage will be charged a fee.

Day 1 : Hervey Bay to Fraser Island

Get picked up from your Hervey Bay accommodation and take a ferry across to the World Heritage sand island that is Fraser Island. Today you will get to have a swim in famous Lake McKenzie, visit the historical heart of the island - Central Station and the rainforest boardwalk, see ancient King Ferns at Wanggoolba Creek, visit Pile Valley's famous Satinay trees and trek to Basin Lake which is perched high in the dunes.

Day 2 : Fraser Island to Hervey Bay

Today we discover the ocean highway of 75-Mile Beach and it's famous icon of the SS Maheno Shipwreck, swim in crystal-clear Eli Creek with ocean views, visit The Pinnacles Coloured Sands where you learn about local mythology, climb Indian Head for Fraser Island's most spectactular views, experience the natural rock pool jacuzzis at Champagne Pools plus time for an optional joy flight with Air Fraser taking off right from the beach. After dinner catch the 8.30pm ferry back to Hervey Bay.

Those travelling with a campervan can drive to River Heads Mainland Reception where they can receive a secure pin to gain access to the parking facilities. Bookings are recommended. 1 night rate is a $25 local payment.

Although Cool Dingo Tours are all-inclusive, don't forget money for souvenirs (an ATM is available at the resort) and drinks at the bar. The resort's Village Store sells resort wear, groceries, drinks and snacks, alcohol, sun-screen, insect repellent etc.
